Time to start this year’s investigations of the Danish-Lübeck fleet
Monday June the 22nd the project of 2009 starts out at Krusmyntagården. The main focus this year is attempting to establish the outer borders of the wreckage area, foremost outside Krusmyntagården. The plan will be like last year in many aspects, but in a smaller scale with diving and surveying with metal detectors under water and possible sonar and magnetometer search by boat. The late start is due to a late response regarding continuous funding, but now we have had a positive answer so let’s go for it!
June the 22nd through the 28th, during the “Gotland-week”, we will carry out the first week of activities. Diving will take place at the beach by Krusmyntagården. There will be a guide to show visitors around and give information on the project, the dive activities and the Danish-Lübeck fleet. Saturday June the 27th there will be an event at 4 pm, where we will present the project and the finds from last year, show pictures, and provide further information on this year’s discoveries.
July the 4th through the 18th there will be possibilities for housing at Krusmyntagården for those taking part in the investigations. Volunteers will continue the survey in all directions; we have added another metal detector to our gear so the search can go on in several different places at the same time. The guide will be on site taking care of visitors.
Are you interested to take part as a diver the 4-18th of July? Sign up at firstname.lastname@example.org no later than June 19th.
